Last night, I visited Ches's Fish and Chips on Topsail Road for the first time in over a year. I brought a colleague from Ontario who wanted to try authentic Newfoundland fish and chips, so I recommended Ches's. Our server was very friendly and the staff even offered us mini cupcakes, adding to the enjoyable atmosphere. We both ordered a two-piece fish and chips with dressing and gravy on the side, along with drinks. It took about twenty minutes to receive our meal, but it was worth the wait. Despite trying to avoid fried foods due to high cholesterol, I found the meal to be delicious. The only downside was the slightly higher prices compared to my last visit, but it wouldn't deter me from r...

Outstanding fish and chips with a reasonable price. The dishes are always fresh, and their breakfast is amazing - definitely worth a try. We have enjoyed it multiple times since they started serving it. The staff is incredibly friendly. The only downside was their heating issue, but I didn't let that affect my rating as it was out of their control. The technician was there addressing the problem while we were there, and the manager apologized several times and provided excellent customer service in handling the situation.

If you like soggy, super greasy fish chips..then this is for you. I've tried all locations, portions are skimpy besides tasting like old grease that's been dipped multiple times. I'd recommend Leo's or By Da Beach in st. Phillips, another is The Station in...Holyrood. I cringe to think that come from aways think this is what a good feed of fish chips really tastes like .

Would not consider Ches's as the "" best "" fish and chips in town. Tried three different locations now and still of the same opinion sad to admit . Have heard the same comments from others . Batter too thick with small portions of fish . Willing to,try again some time though . Book a table now

I ordered delivery and requested a side of gravy, but instead received a gravy soup with fries. The gravy was poured all over the fries and fish. However, I must say that the fish was delicious.

Lots of time fish is not fresh but frozen. Unless order is phoned in earlier you have to wait quite a while for your order. Usually food is quite greasy. Staff not too friendly.

We went there on our last day in Newfoundland and it wasn't all that good I had the seafood plate and very little fish and lots of fat and dough I would choose somewhere else

Recommend Cod and Pommes Frites. Good portions and delicious frits and cod. Heat yourself in the air frit because you cannot eat everything in a meal. Will be back. Book a table now
