Since returning to the UK I have wanted to give a special mention to this wonderful little restaurant in Little Italy - which in my opinion is a MUST VISIT if you are in the area / visiting the local markets. On my birthday in June, we found ourselves in this neighbourhood and thought that this lovely little restaurant with its outside tables was the right place to have lunch. As it was my birthday, we decided to treat ourselves to champagne and to try as much on the menu as we could. We had excellent gazpacho and steak bavette and deserts. The waitress, Karin, was fantastic and looked after us very well indeed. Not only did she have an expert knowledge of the food on the menu, she also gave u...

This is a great place to go for an intimate dinner for two, a casual coffee date or to dine and work. Met a friend at Beaufort Cafe, a Scandi inspired rest - on a Tuesday evening and spent several hours grazing and chatting. The service was attentive, polite and the ambiance warm and friendly. I felt that the staff have great pride in their work, the quality of the food they serve and the When we sat down, our server ran through the evening specials and both sounded delicious and quite fancy. The fries were homemade, crispy and accompanied by a dipping...

If Le Beau Fort seems to want to persist longer than the Ellefsen that it replaced, I am still looking for a constant at this place. The service, the menu, and even the ambiance vary so much that it is difficult to give a fixed rating to this place. The last time I went there, the person I was with, just like me, found no reason to go back. Several items missing from the menu, practically no vegetarian options, and generic coffee. And overall, for the price, it's average. Certainly, Le Beau Fort remains a good place for a business lunch or to grab a coffee (or even a beer) with a colleague, because the space is pleasant. But the competition nearby is becoming increasingly present. For a few...

I was in town visiting my sister and stopped by twice. The owner describes every dish with a clear passion. Everything on the menu is carefully prepared and beautifully presented. I had a grilled calamari salad the second time, which was just excellent. They have some great wines by the glass aw well as beers on tap. It's a great neighborhood place with almost exclusively locals. A rare find.
