We were so excited to try Capital Pizza, but had an unacceptable experience. We waited an hour for the most unappealing calzone I've ever had. During that time we didn't receive a single refill or explanation for the wait. Our waiter was nice, just not very attentive. We still tipped 20% because we've worked in food service before and understand it wasn't his fault. The ranch dressing was good ????? This is the first negative review I've ever left and I wouldn't have left it if the restaurants response hadn't been so arrogant to previous reviews. We literally had 3 frozen pizzas in the freezer I bought on sale 3/$10 that would've been a more satisfying meal.
I came to the city to visit family, I was looking for a really good place to have pizza and a small town like Lubbock. Capital Pizza was suggested, so I thought we would try. We had the greatest experience through a young man named Joseph! He had great suggestions, an amazing personality, He is incredibly good with small children! You're silly and entertaining. that we never needed anything, I never skipped a beat with other guests. He really made this an unforgettable journey. Thanks to Joseph, every time I get to Lubbock, I'll go to Capitol Pizza. I recommend you stop and try it!
Capital Pizza has a lunch buffet from 11:00 to 2:00. My only wish is that we could have been there at 11:00 instead of 1:45 when it was just before shutdown. Her pizza crust was good and the hot sausage and mushroom pizza was also good. Other varieties were not so fresh due to our late arrival. But I bet they would have been great if we had been there during the first buffet. The price for the adult buffet was 9.99. Child buffet was 6.99.
The pizza is good however it's expensive and we didn't get good service. The waiter never checked on us and we had to get up and ask for our check and a box. We had to ask for the box 2x cause they forgot. So no tip. Other than the bad service it's a cool rustic country style environment.
