I stopped by for a donut and a coffee, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The coffee was quite good, but the donut I had was just okay. It wasn't as fresh as I had hoped, which might be important to consider based on the time of day you visit if you're looking for a really delicious pastry. Since I got my order to go, I didn't realize the donut was stale until I was back on the road. I think I’ll try to visit this place earlier next time to ensure I get a fresher pastry. The young man working the inside counter was friendly and efficient. My drink was perfect. He even apologized for the people behind me that took 5 min to decide on a half dozen donuts. (Please be ready to order and know what you want before approaching the register! He was the only person I saw actually working. So he had to take orders and make them. The other gal working the drive thru (there were no drive thru customers while I was there looked to be having a rough day.Maybe a touch understaffed, and the no rewards is not uncommon for coffee shops that are owned by truck stops. Don't blame the staff, they're just trying to do their jobs and have no control over those things.
I ordered six chocolate crème-filled doughnuts and paid for them, but they only had four available. The staff member was quite rude, and when they suggested two alternative doughnuts, I was charged extra for those. It seems unreasonable to upcharge for items that weren't even what I originally ordered. They really need someone friendlier at the front counter instead of this grumpy older lady. This visit took place on December 12, 2023, at 10:22 AM in Effingham, IL.
This use to be a great Dunkin. Now it is not. Cold snacking bacon COVERED in grease. I asked why is this cold they said they can't serve it heated up. Umm what? They were out of the everything bagel bites and did say anything until we got to the order window. And the Sourdough Sandwhich was barely juat past room temp. Book a table now

I normally give them good reviews but when you get served burnt bagels with a gallon of cream cheese on them, then 1 you don't appreciate our business, nor your store for your customer service.
I had a fantastic experience with the customer service here. Molly was outstanding and demonstrated excellent people skills. I highly recommend this location!
