With high hopes of enjoying a satisfying meal, we entered this particular establishment, eager to indulge our taste buds. However, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment when we were promptly seated, only to be unceremoniously informed that our presence was unwanted and that we should seek nourishment elsewhere. It is worth mentioning that the establishment's website explicitly stated that food service would continue until 3 o'clock, leading us to expect a pleasant dining experience. In an attempt to address this issue and find a resolution, I took the initiative to contact the manager directly. I can't wait to go back!We had a party of five for Father's Day for Sunday Jazz Brunch. We didn't have a reservation because the website says they only accept reservations for parties of four or fewer. We arrived right at 11 am, and after a short wait, we took seats at the bar. Honestly, this was probably the best seat in the house. We had excellent service from the bartenders. Evangeline’s is an extraordinary institution. The music is curated so well and fits with the cuisine to transport you to another world; and the staff and owners are some of the warmest authentic people in the biz. I have loved eating here and I’ve loved the people I’ve met here. Five stars.
Great music, food, drinks and service. I think our server noticed our cheesecake was slightly delayed in coming out before we did (like I said, music was great). When I come back to St. Louis, I will definitely visit again!
