Fishers In The City

On this recent visit to Fishers in the City the food was good but the service was quite poor. The overall impression from our waitress was that she couldn't care less and she showed little interest in or warmth towards us as customers. My main course of monkfish and king prawn curry was, according to the menu, supposed to be served with an accompaniment of poppadoms and mango chutney they failed to arrive when the main courses were served. Not only did she fail to notice this but also she didn't check back a few minutes later to see if all was ok with our main courses. We visited Fishers on a Sunday evening, eating quite early. The restaurant was quiet, which felt a bit strange; we're used to the place being quite buzzing. But, as always, the food didn't disappoint. With so much great choice, we went for the fish and chips from the Favourites menu and starters of Chowder and fish cakes. Service was quick, polite and unobtrusive. Food arrived piping hot. The fish cakes were great, and my other half really enjoyed the bowl of Chowder. The fish and chips we both ordered Haddock was also excellent; the beer batter was crisp and tasty. Well worth a visit if you're in the capital.

My wife and I had a lovely anniversary dinner. I had the mussels best I have ever had my wife had the fish soup which was lovely , we both had fish and chips brilliant

We are regular diners and always find the food and service of a high standard. Staff are attentive and well trained.
