I have spent many a happy time at The Fortuna over the past 40+ years and while there have been changes in management over that time, I still love going there. Most recently (in the past few months I've been twice) it still has a nice familiar, neighbourly feel about it. I have seen in some reviews that ppl criticise the staff for their accents? Please! if you're not willing to find a way to communicate, go to KFC or Macca's. We have always found the staff to be kind, professional and the food is great good price and delicious. We are visiting from interstate and were in the area when we felt like having a local Chinese meal. Not expecting much, we were blown away by the attention to detail of the decor and cleanliness, and impressed with the service and food. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food we ordered (hot and sour soup, salt and pepper tofu and seafood sizzling claypot) was fresh and delicious! We would highly recommend this place and definitely come back again.
I got the garlic prawns and salt and pepper squid... oh. My. Goodness. It was so, so good I had to call them just to let them know how much I enjoyed my food. Please support this business and don’t let me favourite Chinese restaurant be affected by COVID. Sending so much love to the owners and chef.
Ordered take away at Fortuna as we live locally. We had the special fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and sizzling beef. The food was tasty and reasonably priced for serving portion.
