If you're driving into or out of Melbourne, give the roadhouse Maccas and Hungry Jacks a miss and slip off the Hume into the beaut little township of Seymour and refuel' at Gaffney's Pie Kitchen. The bakery is superbly clean and neat as a pin,...and offers a lovely selection of pies, cakes, slices and biscuits, plus great coffee, milkshakes and even ice cream, as well as cold drinks. Prices are on point too with a large flat white We stopped for a morning break and ordered a mini meat pie, coffees, a bakery version of the iced vovo biscuit and a yummy plum crumble slice. All superb, and above all friendly, smiling service! Thanks guys...we will remember you next time we come through :

The selection is great with something there for everyone- but we took this detour especially for award winning pies and pastries and was disappointed. The shop is crammed with little to no seating, the ladies are borderline pleasant and in a hurry to get you...out, the food was only ok nothing special about the pepper pie, sausage roll, pastie or vanilla slice Giving two stars because at least it was greasy like hungry jacks up the road- but for over to feed us family of five with no drinks we should’ve stopped there..

I couldn’t bear the thought of a deep fried onslaught, so we took a short detour off the Freeway. So many good options; beef and Shiraz pie, brolliflower pie, even some gluten free choices for my lovely wife. Plenty of options for the kids, even...some ice-cream. I went for the curry pie (which thankfully had no sultanas in it).

Not too much of a detour off the freeway but well worth it. A huge variety of pies and pastries and sandwhich items. The Chicken Parma Pie is definitely a must try if you are a pie lover and a Parma lover. Very friendly staff...and a nice store layout. Reasonable pricing and very flavoursome. Book a table now

I had lunch at this restaurant on Sunday in March and had a great experience. We ordered the Beef and Vegetable Pastie and the Country Beef Pie, both of which were delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up buying some to take back home to Melbourne.

I had the Triple Chilli Braised Beef Pie, a Passionfruit Lemon Curd Tart and Coffee. All were exceptional, however the Pie was one of the best I have ever had. Sadly, this Pie Kitchen is km away from my home.

After traveling for a few hours, we were in need of a snack before visiting the tank museum at Puckapunyal. We decided to stop by a local bakery and were pleased with the great food they served.

I was very disappointed to discover that they use spiral pasta as a filler for the pie. The pastry was good, but the filling was not enjoyable. I will not be returning to this restaurant. Book a table now
