Snow chaos with apocalyptic road conditions and we were arranged to eat with Schatzl's relationship halfway between our home towns : Where the hunter is not even directly in Bad Tölz, but two boxes further in Kirchbichl. On the last piece, the street was more like you saw her. I was glad when we were here! At least you can park directly at the house. When you enter, you're in a hallway. Our decision to visit Jägerwirt during a day tour in Bad-Tölz was very satisfied for all parties. Family Rank has operated this little crossroads for three generations. It offers quite limited dishes with meat from neighboring farms as well as other homemade stuff. Supposedly famous for its haxn, served only on a day before order. I'm looking forward to trying one day.
To cut a long story short: if the service were more attentive, I would have rated this place as excellent. For its typical ambience, regional and seasonal menu, good selection of wines and very good value for money. The food is freshly prepared with all the house, including the saucers; Therefore we did not notice to wait longer than expected to arrive.
The environment definitely is rural, but after 30 minutes from Munich you reach this place. With patience, we could consider the service as good. On the other hand, the place is nicely bucolic and the food is amazing. One tip: ask for the Kalbshax vom Grill für 3 Personen if you are starving.
