The menu had a meatless section that we appreciate, but it wasn't exactly clear how to make these options vegan. The staff was receptive to questions about vegan and vegetarian options, but we had to state that milk meant butter and milk and the plate components were not very clear so there were a lot of questions and specification to reach vegan options. Overall, the dishes were quite bland, but maybe it was because we ordered them mild in terms of spices. We have the vegetable pasta (I liked her Chili Chutney? but very preferably Karmas Minze Chutney), bhindi aloo and daal mahkni without cream. I love Indian food so it was nice to find a place open at noon. I feel like naan is simple enoug...
I went in when it was very slow and I'm sure that's not always the case, but there was only one waiter and he didn't understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan. I personally don't want to eat animals, but I think it's even worse to waste, so it was very sad to me when I ordered a dish that it was vegan, then if it wasn't, must be thrown away to get the right order. Thanks, cows. That means when I got my order it was delicious, but I still had a nervousness about what made it much more difficult to enjoy, even I tried to explain to the waiter in a positive way, but he didn't quite understand and seemed like I was upset. This is my all time favorite go to Indian Resteraunt. But last night was terrible. Chicken Coconut korma.. the chicken was all white chicken breast meat.. massive huge dry chunks that were not marinated at all. It wasn't tender at all. It was as tough as a really dry chicken nugget. The container wasn't filled up at all. The flavor was bland. Really disappointed . I usually love this place and tell everyone to go here.. but hmm.. we ordered samosas... GREAT! We ordered the peshwari Nann. Honestly it was just ok. It was drying up so we tried to eat a piece with our meal instead of dessert. It was just really disappointing.
I've been here a few times since they opened on Sunday and near the Jordan Commons Theater. It is a nice place to stop for dinner and they can veganize some of the options on their menu. The food was delicious and tasteful.
