We decided to stay here because it is the cheapest accusations in Key Largo and we plan to be here five days to learn what the keys have to offer. I did not read the reviews before booking. When opening the door I discovered that what I thought I booked and what was not the same (obvily cameras make everything bigger including hotel rooms) The room was clean, but there was a sickly sweet smell in the room I discovered was a plug in wall fresher that immediately unplugged. The bedroom is in a reasonable condition, but I found it strange that there are twin headphones on a king bed. I'll come back after commenting on the bathroom. The bathroom is in bad shape. We came down to spend the weekend with friends for our anniversary. We didn't need a 5-star hotel and the pictures online looked acceptable. Room 212 was terrible. The bathroom was pink in 1950s and large enough for 1 person. The area around the floor of the toilet had a bad patch job probably in the 80s direction through the linoleum. The front door was an inside door and had gaps where highway noises and mosquitoes came through. The walls had a rest of 80 mirrors and headboards for a double bed, but we had a single king. The good news: air conditioning, which often starts because it is old inefficient, usually drowns the all-night traffic noise. The rest of the news: dry red, pickled bedding, delayed (or completely ignored maintenance). The owner is here a long time manifested as surly, inappropriate, inhospitable ruin. (These are the good points. No one needs ice after 10:30 (or whenever it is melted in the cooler in the office, a towel bar in the shower or clean floors.
If you want the Hilton don’t stay here. Before the cost of this hotel is clean, staff is very friendly and helpful, pool is clean, and parking accessible and free. It is dated but fairly quiet (on the highway). Centrally located. I’m very glad I was here And didn’t listen to all these negative reviews. It’s not nearly as bad as they make it sound.
