came into an ice cold restaurant. the waiting personal was terrible. we had drinks while we waited for a 4th party. the cutlery was not clean. it actually has food debris on it. this was taken away on request and then not replaced either....always shimmer in the cold.our friend came and we ordered eating . it took at least 45 minutes..then mario came out. Greetings is like ladies and BOY. to my son in law .and told my friend that was eating late because she had kept her waiting. we all ordered when she arrived..just shameful disregard to make a gast responsible for the late arrival of the food. the service was abysmal .i got the leak and it was on the table left .waitress immediately went aw...
I’ll start with the positives. The service was good, friendly and efficient. However it’s hard to see how the reviews are so good for here. The food was mediocre. The beef on the meat skewer was over cooked and both skewers were coated in gravy...which was unexpected. The chips were good. The lasagna didn’t have that much meat and was loads of pasta with an overly sweet Ragu sauce. The wine had cork floating in it. The decor is tired and dated (think late 1980s) the glassware has been washed so often it’s scratched and opaque. The cutlery didn’t match and was what you get in a school canteen. another excellent meal in mario’s. beautiful eating coupled with excellent service. what else to say. a Jewel in the opposite for years here and always very good.
