It 's easy to over analyze take-out, but sometimes you just want something plain and simple with no surprises. This is that type of Chinese. Pretty western, actually... very western, but well cooked and heaps of flavour... Just like I remember Chinese take-out when I was a kid. If you want authentic, go to Chinatown... Or China... Now, nitty-gritty. Good sizes... We got three dishes plus special fried rice for three of us and there was plenty for a second meal the next night. Good combination of veggies and meat, and the meat was tender and flavoursome. A little garlic-y in one of the dishes, but not in a bad way, just not expected. The home delivery service at this restaurant is probably good, but the in-house dining experience was disappointing. We had to ask for chopsticks and more paper napkins. The entrees were just okay - the Mongolian beef was not what we expected and the curried scallops were disgusting, so we left most of them. The sweet and sour pork was acceptable. The table service was not great, as it seemed the server was busy taking phone orders all night. Overall, on a chilly night we were left feeling cold and unsatisfied with our dining experience.
I do not recommend dining at this restaurant. I decided to order takeout and found the place to be empty and cold. Upon entering, I immediately regretted my decision to place a phone order, but felt obligated to pick up my food. There were no waitstaff present, only someone in the kitchen who took my money. It was a Thursday night. The Satay Beef did not taste like satay to me, and the fried rice was mediocre. I was hesitant to eat the prawns due to the emptiness of the establishment.
Entire menu caters for coeiacs except for battered or deep fried foods. Quite remarkable. We ordered on line and our dinner was delivered piping hot to our home where it was eaten with oohs and ash. Food delicious!
