we booked here when we were at the weekend in the opposite. was not a big choice on the menu. we had a starter of suppe and a net of cake and chips. suppe was nice, but something too salty. pie was delicious with meat loads and came with many chips. nothing else that is very unusual. they would normally expect something nice? for the price that was very strange and a little disappointing. but we sat at the fire and that was pleasant and the two young girls who worked there were good. the pub had a nice ambiente, but I think if they weren't fired, it's pretty cool. all in all this was a beautiful experience, only a scandal over the incomplete dinner.
Excellent pub and food. Eleven of us visited this pub for some lunch after completing a hike as part of a walking group. We hadn’t booked but were warmly greeted and given menus. We ordered various different meals which arrived together. Dietary requirements were no problem, especially for celiacs. The food was delicious. It’s a characterful 13th century pub with an open fire and warm atmosphere. I would definitely recommend.
We had booked a table for Boxing Day lunch and arrived after a muddy walk with our dog. The owner was very accommodating and found us a great table at the busy pub. The service was excellent and the pub had everything you would expect, including an open fire, a variety of real ales, and top-notch service. Our lunch, especially the specials, was fantastic. We will definitely be returning.
Came her with friends. wasn’t expecting much but I was too quick to judge. The food was excellent, decent size portions at an even more decent price. The evening had a nice flow to it, in a traditional pub. Also the drinks selection was superb
