When I moved back to Waco, I didn't have high expectations for Outback and didn't plan on revisiting. However, I decided to give it another chance last night and I am thrilled that I did. The bartender, Hugh (or possibly with an E, I'm not sure), was exceptional. Even though we arrived an hour before closing time on a Saturday night (which I normally avoid doing), Hugh provided us with his undivided attention and made us feel like honored guests in his own home. He patiently listened to my preferences, made recommendations, and gave honest opinions when I couldn't make up my mind. They opened through lunch time on a snowy, icy day; and we availed ourselves of a bonus ecard. I wholly recommend the Prime Rib Sandwich, and my wife enthusiastically consumed the coconut shrimp with the marmalade. O. S. is luxury at any time, but the value is greatly enhanced during lunchtime. Moreover, you can always find a seat then. Service is cheerful and attentive from the young ladies, and I look forward to their hospitality again. Sample the Prime Rib Sandwich.
The food at this restaurant is consistently fantastic. The sirloin with shrimp was delicious. We decided to try both the coconut shrimp and the grilled shrimp to compare, and we enjoyed the coconut shrimp more. The grilled shrimp was a bit too dry for my taste. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and the salad and potato were satisfying. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant. If you're in the mood for a tasty mixed drink, I suggest trying the Aussie Punch.
The bread here is amazing. My friends and I always eat a couple loafs and a get a couple more to go. Also, the other food is good too. I had the Tawoomba Salmon and it was delicious. One of my mates got a New York strip that was perfectly cooked, juicy and well seasoned. The other one got a 'medium ' sirloin that was basically a hockey puck...
