"We were on our way back from the tour de France and decided to have dinner in an out of the way restaurant. Wasn't too sure at first but thought hey why not, what a delight it was. The decor is a little out dated but that is the only negative. The food was delightful. A steak cooked to perfection, loved every mouthful. All of the meal really was lovely. Out of the way but worth it!"

Fondue, raclette (if ordered the day before), boite chaude, raclette, etc. All excellent. Likewise the filets de perche. We've been going here every couple of months for the last 14 years, so have worked our way through the menu several times over. It's pretty short, as the chef wants to focus on doing a few things well.Rooftop terrace in summer, with view of the alps.Don't let the apparent grumpiness of the owner put you off -- she isn't really, but nor will she give you the stomach-turningly obsequious treatment of some professional waitresses.

I went here with some of my friends to celebrate my birthday, we would have gone to the restaurant next door but since the prices were quite different, we decided for L'arlequin. The woman who runs the place was not very welcoming, and you did indeed feel a bit like you were bothering her by making your order. Bit of a "slim pickin" with only a few dishes on the menu, but the food was good. So judging by the prices in the surrounding, if you want a rather cheap and good meal - this is the place!

The place is very small, so be sure to call and reserve in advance. The menu is quite limited and focuses on traditional French fare. The "daily specials" are the same every day, but all is well made. The beef is especially good and tender, and the trout is also very good. Never had dessert there so I can't comment on it. Good place to go every once in a while on a lazy weekend in town.

Found through Trip Advisor, 1 of few restaurants that are open every day in Gex!The restaurant was quiet, very traditional, and a world of difference from the pizza chains in town. The food was very nice!Would definitely go back again! The staff were very accommodating and we communicated with a mix of languages. If you want to experience a real French restaurant, then well worth a visit!
