"They opened on public holidays, this was one of the reasons we picked this restaurant. The price is reasonable and service is good. Sashimi is okay but not very fresh and not enough variety. To be fair, you cannot expect too much for this price range."

Went their today with family, no long wait line, perhaps due to weekend. It took us around 10 minutes to find out what we'e like to order. The waitress was pretty patient. Nice. We ordered a sashimi tray and some sushi. The sashimi is the best so far I have ever had. Sashimi at Sakura was served very very fresh and there are many kinds of sea food, including salmon, tuna, octopus, etc. Highly recommended. Sashimi tray is also served with misu soup and salad. The soup was so-so. It seems the restaurant is owned bu Korean because her is Korean food served as well, shall give it a try next time.

I used to give this restaurant a 5-star rating and considered it my favorite Japanese restaurant in Waterloo. However, after three recent negative experiences, it is time to reevaluate. Following the first disappointing visit, I thought it may have been a one-time mistake. But after three unsatisfactory meals, I am beginning to believe this is the new standard: the sushi ingredients, both rice and neta, are not very fresh. Additionally, the quality and quantity of the lunch specials have been on the decline.

We go to Sakura 4 or 5 time a year for Saturday lunch and last week went. We were surprised to find out that they no longer serve the lunch menu on weekends (which we had been ordering from for many years) and also that the decor could seriously use some up-dating. The food was, as always, quite good and the service was great but they really need to invest some money in fixing up the place. May be time to find another Japanese restaurant...

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Waterloo, the food is absolutely amazing, always super fresh. The service is incredibly fast, every time I've gone I only wait about 5-10 minutes for my food. Not to mention the staff are incredibly nice, always super friendly and helpful.
