Seafood by the Yarra

Like any local Fish Chip shop (not a restaurant as listed here), you have great, good, average and bad experiences. The owner tries her best but feel like she is under pressure and the results are wildly varying quality of food. Some days the burgers are superb, other days, they are just slapped together. Oil quality varies which can be identified through the quality of the chips. Personally, I like the shop and the area, but it's a case of consumer beware.

As garden variety fish and chip fry up goes, Seafood By The Yarra is the win in town. Good location for walking across the road and eating with the ducks on the river bank. Friendly service although somehow they always seem to put the person who knows the least about their food on the job of taking orders. Good value for money. Nice chips. Nice thick crumbed flake. and not way overly cooked as is far too often the case.

Wouldn't waste your time or money, ordered a lamb souvlaki today meat tastes straight from a freezer, well what little meat there was, ordered no onion guess what full of onion.. After the disappointing souvlaki I though surely you can't stuff up a potato cake... Wait no they did. Very disappointed

It's your typical fish and chip shop with pleasant staff. The oil is fresh enough and the hamburgers are what you expect for a fish and chip place. I am not a big fried food guy so my expectations are not set that high

The food was excellent and the service was friendly. The shop was clean and efficient, making it a great place to buy fish and chips to enjoy by the Yarra River.
