If you are from the south, and if you are older like me, you will find the ambience of this place very nasty. It was as if I went back to my youth with the folding floors, antique plates on the wall. You don't have to be old to enjoy the food. It is very well prepared and the ice was handmade. This mother and daughter team does everything and it's delicious. In the end, I was looking for where I was in a family house. It sucks you.
This place made me wish I lived in Bowie! The food was all agriturismo to table- fresh, homemade style farewell, with what changes in the season. Her ice cream was decadent, like the lemon macarpone cake. The picturesque surroundings, located in a house café and antique shop are perfection with the family style welcome and kindness we receive from the owners. A highlight of my entire visit to the D.C. area!
I love Simple Pleasures! It is an old-fashioned ice shop that has once a month or more special food events. I really like the different ice flavors that are a bit different Stracciatella, apple doll, chocolate thunder and banana pudding to name some.
