Stoney's pub has a long tradition in Washington DC. A few years ago it left its dark, cozy L street home for a better space on P street. It kept the menu pretty much intact, featuring one of the best Rubens in town. Overall the food is good, not great, but quite good. It is moderately priced and to me is a great deal. There was something special about their old home and the smoke-stained walls and ceilings. All that is a distant memory; new furniture, and a facility that has never allowed smoking, has improved the cleanliness and hygienic quality of the place, perhaps at the expense of a bit of character. Servers are still friendly, and the location is still a bit off the main track, well wo...

I go to Stoney's every Monday night with 5-6 work buddy's. Always had good conversation with bartender and server. One Wednesday night a friend and I wanted to try the pizza. While sitting at the bar during a very busy night, I asked the bartender where our pie was. He proceeded to **** an attitude, pointed at the kitchen, and dropped an F bomb. With many years of restaurant experience, I have never heard an employee be that rude to a customer. Thanks to Mr. Personality, I will never drop another dime in this joint again.

I first visited Stoney's a few years ago. I was there as part of a Native American Housing Group. I checked into my hotel and asked the door man what was good within walking distance. He said Stoney's. I have been back to D.C 3 times since and have made it a point to have lunch or diner there. I will be there again this month Sept(08) and Dec. I plan on getting my meals at Stoney's.

There's nothing worse than walking into a restaurant and feeling completely ignored. It seems that unless you're a local regular, you're practically invisible. While others who came in after us were greeted, we were left waiting with no acknowledgment. Book a table now

I want to emphasize that the food was delicious, but the server's attitude was quite unpleasant. When dining out, we expect to be treated well, and unfortunately, this waitress seemed angry the entire time. Good service is important to customers.
