"I wanted to have something Japanese food for lunch, and ordered Salmon Bento Box. It was awful. The rise was undercooked, which made it inedible; cucumber in the salad was sliced five times as thick as it should have been; edamame was way undercooked, and salmon was icy cold (even though it came with a disclaimer that warned it to be cold, it should have been served at least at room temperature). Someone at the Teaism kitchen should go to Japan and see what a Japanese lunch food is supposed to taste like and how it should be presented. What is served at Teaism is a disgrace to the reputation of Japanese food."

I recently visited Teasism based on various internet reviews and recommendations. While it certainly serves as a convenient alternative to the Smithsonian cafes if you're playing tour guide for the day, I was underwhelmed with the actual restaurant. I ordered the turkey and brie sandwich (for $7.25), and I was surprised to get a sandwich that was about 15 inches long but only about the size of a ping pong ball in diameter. There were maybe 5 or 6 slices of mediocre turkey and then some slabs of brie slapped on it. It was drowning in exceptionally pungent mustard, and that, combined with the iced tea (some variety of spiced tea they didn’t specify which they were serving today) was a bit much...
