Everything 's gone to hell in a handcart since COVID provided the World 's Best Excuse for poor service, and the Lincoln Extra Tesco Cafe is just the latest example I 've found. I used to use the cafe regularly on a Saturday morning pre COVID as my reward for doing the weekly shop, and decided to resurrect the practice this morning. Service was slow. Really slow. Bloke with 2 kids trying to order breakfasts and milkshakes and cappucino and wraps..... the list seemed endless, and each preceded by the bloke asking these very young kids what would you like? OK, most of us have been there but the sensible move on the part of the counter assistant would have been to go get someone to take orders...
