"I have been a fan of thali and Joe since it opened. I have been there for every major occasion. We went today, spent 250 and unfortunately the quality of food was like any other Indian restaurant. I have previously given 5* reviews but am downgrading the food and service this time. Don't think we will go again. Totally disappointed by the quality. I am a conniseur of Indian food and have always held Joe's cooking in the highest esteem. The kheer was undercooked. Rice was semi-raw and that amazing taste of each dish is gone. Sad!!"

Visiting Ottawa to meet a friend who shared a list of potential restaurants and Thali was the first spot with his recommendation. You trust friends and just go with the flow.No disappointment here whatsoever even if website was slow loading the menu. It actually works out for me: great food is best consumed with plenty of time!So atmosphere is also important especially downtown where one only sees crowded restaurants or fast food joints. Here there is plenty of room, high ceilings and even a terrace. You get greeted by a photo of the chef and our head of state. Then a friendly waiter confirming your OpenTable reservation. Yes you want to book a table even at lunch on a weekend. It’s popular s...

During our recent visit to Ottawa, we visited this restaurant. It was quite close to our hotel so thought of going their for dinner. Ambience was very pleasant. Tables are very well organized with plants besides each table. Enough lighting. We ordered 3 traditional vegetarian thali. It was so aromatic when it got served on our table. It includes some curries, desserts, one parotta, one papad and bowl of rice. Out of all curries, mushroom curry and kofta were super delicious. Baingan preparation can be improvised. Overall taste was delightful. From pricing POV, we felt it was overpriced. However, it is worth giving it a try. Staff was very humble and courteous.Kid-friendliness: They dont have...

It was my first time going to Thali and I tried their most popular dish. It was pretty filling and the chicken was very tasty. Please note that some of the dishes in the platter might get cold until you try the other ones. It is a great idea to change up the dishes in the platter. The mango pudding was not my favorite, but that was because I do not like mango. I did not have the option to choose the dessert as it came with the platter. I will definitely go there but maybe I will try other dishes to find one that suits better with my taste! Service was also great but when we asked the details of the ingredients a watier only told us the names of the dishes and quickly left our table. Also, it...

Helloo from a real Google critic!Lovely South Indian curries … freshly made..!!BuT but but..When i am ordering a 30$ indian THALI, I expect FRESH Rotis or parathas !!! They were DEFINITELY NOT Freshly cooked ..!! I could just tellThe vegan rotis were frozen ones, LOLIf you cannot cook fresh food, DO NOT put it on the Menu Sir ! It’s not fair AT ALLLL..!!Moreover an Indian thali SHOULD include One entree ATLEAST !! Just serving 3-4 curries, which are served only 2 spoons each IS NOT how Indians are served !I would definitely kindly suggest the chef to just put in extra effort for customers to have a reason to re-visit again..!!Ooh the DAHIVADAS stole the show ..!! They were freshly made the c...
