The hen and the hog is one of these hidden gems that, once you find it, you want to go again and again. I had a reservation for 5:45 on a Saturday night. I came there at 5:30, but although the place was completely empty, I was still on bar to cool my heels. Good step because I had to taste the wines I wanted with dinner. BTW, the Whites are saved In a refrigerator and reading are not cooled at all. Oh, good. The selection is decent, but not great. The prices are correct. Whatever you're coming for dinner. Honestly, I can?t complain about a single thing. Our night was amazing, without a doubt. The food was phenomenal, you pay for good quality without a doubt. It was delicious. Started off with the pimento cheese bites, they were amazing. Cooked perfectly and plated beautifully with an amazing jelly-like sauce to eat them with. I had the smoked salmon, which came with broccoli, carrots, and the BEST mashed potatoes (cauliflower mashed potatoes I have ever had. I want the recipe for myself! My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner and drinks here. Everything was incredible and we can?t wait to come back with some friends. The restaurant is a little out of the way in beautiful historic Halifax but it is definitely worth it.
Really great hidden gem in the historic Halifax. This is the place for local farm to table. Collard greens and grits meets the point. Definitely you have to pour the shrimps. Worth the trip.
