the best afternoon on the isle of wight is and is still! we came and were quickly seen to our table, all booked for our family including grandparents and our 3 years old. all very happy and welcoming as soon as we thought, I loved the red rope to keep us almost like a red carpet on the door. the rooms are all beautifully furnished with old teekanistern, courts etc. not a dust in itself, so there is much love for the device! we all had the “Victoria afternoon tea”... wow every animal was faultless! the sandwiches were all beautiful and fresh! by no means on the quality of the ingredients! the victoria sponge cake was the best, yes the best! I have ever tasted! so light and tasty! the tee is a...

My sister and a friend went for a cream tea, we were greeted by the owner who was unfriendly and was not keen for us to sit outside even though there were tables free and people all ready outside. The table was wiped for us as...we insisted we’d like to sit outside. The cream tea arrived of which the scones we heated and as cooled were very dry.The tea was nice.As we went to leave and pay the owner was rude about the fact we could only pay by card and I tried to make polite comments only to get rude ones back.I did visit before leaving and was greeted by odd felt tip words over the walls which were dreadful! The chairs and table covers all need updating outside and less tacky fairies too! All...

Amazing setting with lovely friendly staff. Nice to see cream tea with different scones and jams for a change. I had rhubarb and apple scone with rhubarb and ginger jam. Really good flavours on the jam but struggled to pick up flavours in the scone...though. Scone was on the side of perfection for texture and moistness. Really good. Only niggle was the amount of jam and cream. This is a good value cream tea as they give you 2 scones, but the cream and jam portion was more suited to 1 scone. It meant you had too slim down to thinner coverings. Coffee was good flavoured and the Earl Grey tea lovely. Despite the lesser amount of cream and jam this was full flavoured and great value in a lovely...

Such lovely setting at the end of the Old Town Shanklin with a fairy garden. Have been three times over the past 2 years and every time the food and service is excellent. Try the bread pudding with clotted cream! Just like my gran used...to make. Excellent and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
