The Wild Fig Cafe - Table reservation

I haven't been with a coward for about ten years. the service was terrible, the table had cutlery for one, although (for 5) well booked in advance (in the did the waitress should check the table and then take it to us.) the lack of cutlery was not noticed until we asked for some after the net, then it was sealed on the table in a baptism. drinks came after we had eaten without excuse. they used to be amazing and consistent. incredibly limited selection of food. my gnocchi was pretty nice, my wife had fish and chips dry and very common chips. unless they felt like a burger or steak sandwich, (or around 1 o'clock) there was not much to choose. my older people...read more

wonderful experience this morning with the man who is there in service. replied when I take our order when my friend asked for a drink, said he has nothing to say because it serves other tables. we were pushing, even though we were just sitting down a few minutes and so rude when we talk. as scarborough native I have wild feigen a go many times after bad service, but this is something I have never experienced in a caffe. absolutely rude and completely backward thinking, are they aware that their customers are who keep them in business? I'm not sure if he's own, manager or worker, but I've never been so involuntary of a place and this man needs a training...read more

the wild fig. was a place where my family would go out of the south when they got up, that was 6 years ago! but I can't tell them how terrible it was to eat today, not to go here. very overpriced, small portions, poor quality products. I had fish and chips with grilled fish. I asked if it came with an salate and was said yes. it was put down before my daughter, as she also ordered fish and chips and then they told us that the adult served and the children came, we were both shocked, as it was tiny. fish had no color or spice and was cooked over, chips were well cooked and crispy, but a super small part and where I start with the salate. it was mesclun...read more

Food was was very tasty and of very high standard. Service was reasonable, and the setting is quirky. Well worth a visit
