Village - Table reservation

A friend and I had not visited this bar and grill, long famous for its burgers, for many years. We decided to see if met up to our memories of yesteryear and found it to be the same, if not better. We each had the classic burger with a slice of raw onion and shared a large order of fries. The burgers were larger than the buns, the onion was a large slice, and the hamburger dill chips were a perfect addition. The fries were perfect and we appreciated that they had not been assaulted with the salt shaker as is common at some establishments. If you are looking for a good old fashioned hamburger, juicy, and tasty as all get out, go here. Burger is done to order, served with onion if requested, and hamburger dill chips on the side. We shared an order of absolutely delicious fries and happily saw they don't empty the salt shaker on them as many places do. This place overlooks the 9th hole of Glenway Golf Course, providing some humor with comments on those who golf as poorly as I.

Have driven by this place for almost three years and finally decided to give it a try. This will definitely be my new neighborhood spot. Ordered the brick burger and an old fashioned. Seems like a great place to watch UW and Packers games. Service was great and friendly.

Use to live in Madison and have returned many times over the 30 years. I meant to go back to the Village Bar because of the great hamburgers and french fries. I finally made it back and it was wonderful.

Good local tavern with good food with great service. Go with friends, though it can be crowded at times.
