Vito Restaurant - Table reservation

From the moment we were greeted by the kind smile of the Maitre D to the moment we paid the very affordable bill, my wife and I felt like we had found the gem of Santa Monica in terms of Italian restaurants. The old school vibe was a great setting for what was to come. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the flavors were spectacular. We shared a salad caprese and the buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes were amazing. I had the best lasagna ever and my wife enjoyed a pink sauced fettuccine with peas and mushrooms. Unfortunately, food and service is not what it was once. Chicken was dry and hard and overcooked. Pasta was the opposite. If you like al dente pasta, it is perfectly cooked. If not, then make sure they cook it longer. When my date sent the chicken back, the waiter was rude and delighted. I liked this place for a long time, but unfortunately I'm not in a hurry to come back soon. I hope they'll find out.

I often really like Italian about tradition. This said that this is a nice neighborhood place that it is worth coming to this relaxed but classic atmosphere for me. I tried some of the pastas. All the winners, including the one who sneaked a lot over meatballs.

I have nothing to say about food. Good food, maybe good quality, but surely bad portion! I had never expected 12$ plus taxes for eating 7 shells when I ordered Zuppa do Cozze! Look at me.

We had a fabulous dinner. Especially for a cozy birthday dinner. Recommended by neighbors - glad we came. The chocolate mousse cake was fantastic. .
