Firstly I have many good experiences with the food at the Wellington Arms, however not so last Sunday. It was the first time we tried Sunday dinner (for our Wedding Anniversary) where the cost didn't justify the serving. The cauliflower cheese side order for four of us) was simply a joke for each! Two bits of cauliflower in a small side order dish, dry and not really detecting any cheese sauce (don't bother). Thank you to the team at The Wellington Arms, we celebrated my Mother-In-Laws birthday here recently and it was great. We held our wedding party here back in January everything went so well it was decided to book again for for the party....Lindsay was great to work with and ensured all questions were answered quickly, on the day nothing was too much trouble for the team and the food was great. Rooms are comfortable and well decorated. Would highly recommend for a wedding or party. Thanks again.
I visited this highly-rated gastropub for the first time with high expectations. Unfortunately, several items we wanted to order were not available on the menu, which we were informed after placing our order. We ended up choosing the fish and chips, but were disappointed to find the mushy peas were solid and dried out. The waitress kindly exchanged them for us and also offered us sauces to go with our meal.
We had lunch to celebrate a family birthday. The service was average at best but worse was that Hot pies on the outside were cold on the inside and mushy peas were served cold. People on the table next to us had the same issues,...can't believe it.
