"Since this year Idarer Kunsthaus Gerwert has opened the doors of its attractive garden for guests. The Kunsthaus is already worth its visit. Over several floors you can buy pictures and other beautiful things for home. And leave your own pictures on the right angle frame. The creativity of Angelika and Christian continues in the relaxing garden and in the surrounding winter garden. In Idar Oberstein there will be nothing comparable. The ambience is really great, there is a lot to discover. From traffic on the main road there is nothing to feel in the garden, which is just a few meters behind it. Lauschige seats, parasols and trees donate shade and the well scattered his song. A sign on the street shows all summer to the café. And this big summer, of course, was right to start this café. Yesterday we finally found the time for a visit. We missed the nice weather phase. Outside it was a bit too fresh, so we made it cozy in the winter garden. In the oven even a cozy little fire burned. The complex is modern rustic ingenious. A flower on the table and a small wind. From October April the café moved to the Kunsthaus. We were kindly greeted by the owner couple. The daily small dishes are on the tables in front of the kitchen. Actually, we just wanted to have a cup of coffee, my husband stayed there. But I was interested in the tuna on Ricotta/Kapern with Sardinian bread to € 9.00. Then a dry Rieslingschorle instead of coffee. Shortly afterwards it was placed in the conservatory. A large pot of strong coffee with a box of heated milk for my husband. The tuna calls in wake-glass, then the Ricotta-Capers-Creme. The thin Sardinian crispy pastries for diving also in wake glass. The well-cooled white wine choir. The tuna of very good quality has been tasted and seen! The cream tasted nicely with lemon. I'm not a real Caper fan, but that was a perfect combination. And a leak is different. For the price it should have been a bit more bread! The ambitious prices are not only for Idar Oberstein at the highest level. The homemade cake should be worth any sin... also € 5,00 for a piece of French apple cake or lemon cake. The pieces must be big! Or the customer should be sieved. It's up to everyone. Nevertheless, art and enjoyment fit together here! You should be able to do this delay."

"Eating on Christmas is actually the exception in our family. This year we wanted to support the gastronomy and I was glad not to spend one of the two Christmas days in the kitchen. And the bubble of anticipation burst, the restaurants were from the 2nd. November closed for the pandemic. Then I discovered the offer of the Gaststätte Zur Weiherschleife via the newly established delivery service ribir.de. And this offer was exactly what I hoped for a while! Chef and owner Benjamin Breckner offered 3 appetizers, 4 main dishes and 2 desserts. The menu components can also be ordered individually. And the best thing: The ordered food is delivered cold and is fully dressed at home. So the food gets hot on the table at the desired time! I informed my brother on 1. Do not put Christmas holidays in the kitchen for hours and send it the Christmas menu as the latest wish list. He was also enthusiastic about the offer. We chose all three as appetizer: Piedge's creams of apple and pumpkin, refined with Styrian nuclear oil € 4.20. My husband decided to go to the main course: Seeteufelmedaillons on Champagne-Crustacean sauce, with beautified Kaiserschoten and Tagliatelle € 19,80. My brother loves the classic goose dishes at winter time and, due to the restaurant closures of the 2. Lockdown, missed her painfully. It was clear what my brother chose and joined me. That's exactly what I wanted. 1 Christmas day and a little snow When we had all the appetite in the evening, I went to the kitchen to finish the dishes. I never really think about recipes and instructions. And so I decided not to heat the appetizer soup vacuumed in a water bath. I emptied the soup bags in a pot and heated them carefully. It was easy for me to fill with the soup clip without an accident, instead of using the hot wiper bags. Only on December 23 when I tried to make chocolate bowls with balloons, I had embellished our COMPLETTE kitchen with chocolate sprouts (including wallpaper, ceiling, windows, curtains, Petra) of an exploding balloon. After only 21 minutes all components of our main dishes were cooked. On preheated plates I first put the goose bowl and parked it in the warm oven. The portions were plentiful and it smells very aromatic. I would rather not have filled the plates so much, but the remains could not be raised well in the pockets. I have to practice that again. It followed my husband's naval court. Here too, the foods were already convinced when opening the bags. At the navy I had some reservations that the thin skin didn't seem clean to me that I couldn't change anymore. We'll sit down. The steaming dishes were very good. On the first bites was a broad grin, we were all very satisfied. The goose skin was juicy and tender. And the sauce had neat taste depth, just great. Gänsekeule I had tried the clean shortly after opening. Fine and delicate, but the truffles should behave. Truffle Carpaccio in oil we have always in stock and so the puree was beaten with a few truffles. The hosting, happy without bacon, tasted excellent. My fears at the naval dive were unfounded. My enthusiastic man tried me. No disturbing skin, the sea is wonderfully juicy in the aromatic crustacean. The Tagliatelle on the point al dente and also the Kaiserschoten with finely cut onions still with light bite. It was the dessert question. For my brother and me, 2 portions of Marzipan Parfait (without chocolate bowl) would have been from Heilig Evening. But we were just too tired. My husband also needed a proper break to dessert. At my order, I noticed that the bottle was present. He was still present in our Christmas package. A table for two straight left, there's another table in the next room. Reservation is recommended. We didn't know the space yet. The house is not accessible to disabled people due to a few steps. Service: We were kindly welcomed and probably accompanied by the owner to our place. At least 2 other employees were in service tonight and they were also necessary. Everything very friendly and attentive. Only after dinner it took a long time to clean the plates. But in the evening the restaurant had filled to the last place. And I give priority to food and drinks. It was asked what dressing we want for salad and what sauce spaghetti with mussels. And of course, if everything tasted. Despite the large farm, the waiting times for food and beverages were short, including post-order. Food and drink: The menu is well structured and not overloaded. Right behind the entrance door was the recommended day with the spaghetti with mussels well placed. So my main court decided quickly. To change, I ordered the dish with tomato sauce instead of white wine sauce. A large plate was steamed hot. I can't judge whether the pasta really came from my own workshop. Instead of spaghetti, Linguine was served, which bothered me the least. The mussels plentiful and the broth with fresh tomatoes beautiful hearty spicy. Some sand grains were still in the shells, so you need to live when you are shells. This brings the belly, says a family member always: some white wines certainly have received the bowls on their last way. Upstairs some fresh rocket. Good court. My husband served his fresh pizza. Covering fresh tomatoes and mushrooms, garlic. Simple, hot, crispy and good. The dishes served at the side tables all looked very good and plentiful. The homemade pasta is a specialty here. Ambiente: The restaurant is bigger than it seems from the outside. The main room of the Ristorante is all the more comfortable. The room is simple and well maintained. We would suspect what the room was without daylight. Maybe a stable. All tables are clean and double equipped with reinforced tablecloths. All candles are lit on each table and distributed in the room and give some comfort. Maybe a warmth we could use. The room was pretty cool and is probably bad to warm. In warm weather there are well maintained but limited places in front of the house. Toilets were not visited. Conclusion: The restaurant is not always well visited.
