We had been exploring the local pre-history were very late arriving in Les Eyzies for lunch. The lady who runs sandwiches was very welcoming although she didn't have any bread left, she made various suggestions. We ended up having the duck ..potato pie, which was very good was served with a small dressed salad. We will return here on our next visit, but will try to be a little earlier!
Late for lunch, recalled in and received a warm greeting from the proprietor. He was extremely patient with my appalling French, and very good humoured. We only had sandwiches and coffee but both were fresh and excellent.

we stopped there after visiting the National Museum of Prehistory because we wanted an ice cream. The boss is adorable, and the artisanal ice creams are simply to fall. A real treat.
