We booked a table for 18:30. First issue was our table wasn’t ready for us, second issue was there was lots of people standing around us allowing us not to enjoy our meal and the final issue was the food itself, the haggis and steak burger was horrendous not one of my friends finished it, there was a massive hair in my own and they were all dry, I asked specifically for my burger to be plain with cheese haggis and steak I received none of that. The man who served us wasn’t interested at all, and the food came very fast showing us that it was reheats.
This place must be under new ownership… used to be a reliable go to for good food, varied menu and warm atmosphere. No longer Food underwhelming supermarket style pre frozen fish and chips, a few lettuce leaves covered in balsamic, burger also not up to previous standard, quality definitely deteriorated. Freezing cold, had to eat meal with coat on! Even parts of the upholstered bench seating has huge rips/slashes clearly visible and desperately needs urgent repair . No fault with staff, friendly and hard working!
Came in for a quiet drink but glad to leave. A bunch of annoying middle aged men who couldn’t sit still and an Edinburgh gin ruined by tonic water from a dispenser were the main reasons for not wanting to stay for a second drink and to catch the earlier train home instead.
We pitched up for drinks before and after our restaurant meal and had an enjoyable experience. The bar offers food (which we didn't try), a good range of beers/whiskys and great customer service. There's a small area outside which is great if the weather permits.

Great service, good selection of beers and good atmosphere. Good outdoor area as well and dog friendly. Works night out and kept the tables clean all night. Couldn’t have been more accommodating. Didn’t eat there but the food looked good.
It was Christmas fare....Nice staff/ food/ ambience Around the corner from my flat/ been around for years and always buzzing... A wee cool bar and restaurant in Candleriggs/ Merchant City, Glasgow.
Just enjoyed a Sunday Beef Dinner at the Bar 91 and it was great, better than expected, we’ll presented , and oh so tasty. We’ll done Bar 91
Went for Christmas lunch, food was excellent and service was great. Fantastic value for money too, would defo recommend!
