We booked a reservation at the restaurant by email before travelling to Caen. The response was prompt and warm. From the moment we entered the restaurant until the time we left we had a most enjoyable time. The front of house staff who spoke excellent...English were helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The décor was a modern and the atmosphere calm. We opted for the seven course menu and were asked if we had any allergies or particular dislikes. With a little trepidation on my part we placed ourselves in the hands of the chef! Similarly we asked the Maître 'D to match wine to each course which he did admirably. Overall I enjoyed eating, but perhaps it was due to my high expectations, but eating was not sensational or filled up to the 1 Michelin star expectations. it's still a place worth a visit. I had a 7-course menu with my friend., we also added the truffle range, the appetizers were pretty good, but I can't say the same for the meat dish. we had three desserts that were all quite good. I think that the restaurant could use a little improvement overall for its dishes.
We’d wanted to come here for some time but it is a special occasion restaurant and so we bided our time. 41st wedding anniversary seemed to fit the bill. So we booked for a Saturday evening. Went for the 7 course grazing menu and told...them my wife can’t eat anything with sugar. They listened and were superb. Lovely food. Not cheap but very special. Highly recommended. Really friendly and efficient waiting staff. Even if it’s only once in a lifetime, eat here!
we had the seven course surprise menu, and it was interesting, locally and beautifully presented. all the courses were of high quality and had some surprising elements to guess for us. the same with the five weeps where we had to guess the region. I did it. at least that everyone weeping naturally went well with eating, but nevertheless was interesting. it was a very relaxed, nice service and the three hours we stayed were extremely pleasant.
