We finally decided to go out to eat again in france and it was a little before 2:00 after the races. the other restaurants wanted to close or were already closed. then at gilbert, because there are always hot dishes. the restaurant was filled to the last seat, but we were allowed to wait. After a few minutes we sat down, we were then served in a friendly way and what should I write: onion soup, frog thighs and various types of torch pie. We liked it! Now we're going to integrate it more often in our schedule.
After a long journey in Alsace, we finished the day at gilbert. We were warmly welcomed by the owner. service was fast and efficient. the rumsteck was perfect and the fries were homemade and very tasty. the torched pie was perfect from the oven and left nothing to be desired. snails, as usual, perfectly prepared. held by a German couple this restaurant offers typical Alsatian dishes, and a strong Germanic clientele frequent it; the staff is Francophone go there without fear if you are not Germanophone! the portions are generous. prices rather in the top of the fork but you will not be disappointed with your meal.
a nice lunch we were a little overwhelmed with the selection, there were just too many great things on the map. the service was super friendly and the submission of the total package was so good that we came back:

very, very nice people, excellent Alsatian cuisine in a French atmosphere!Festive family and co. no problem, everyone likes it. strongly recommended to all who want to eat local! It's certainly not our last time
beautiful small gastronomy with very friendly service. easy eating with good value for money. the flame cake does not come from the wood stove, but was delicious. happy to be back when it is a bit warmer.
super food made home. service and waitress calm and very friendly. many inhabitants sit in the rustic atmosphere. I always like to see that. If I were one of them, I would come several times a week.
That's how we can summarize. the menu is as expected, the service is very good and the food is tasty and certainly with a kick. the decision is also worthwhile for recidivists.

as always. sparse top .... guests from Northern Denmark were thrilled. service is granat. this little place is very good. price is excellent.
lunch for 4. large torched pie in many variants. the duck magret was excellent, we will return to it during our next visit to alsace.
