À la Forêt du Rhin

We sumbled on this place by accident whilst looking for a brunch one Sunday morning. We saw a restaurant sign at a roundabout and this led us to the Foret du Rhin. If you like fast food, hamburgers, formica, modernesque surroundings and uncommitted staff, then this is not the place for you. Equally, you’ll spend a ‘few shillings’ ihere, but you’ll come away with a profound ‘Wow’ feeling. The food is cooked to order in this family restaurant and took 20 minutes, or so, to arrive, but a glass of local Alsace wine filled the gap magnificently. I had a lunch last wednesday of week February 22, 2013 during my business trip. This village is between the german highway and french highway. This is a typical alsacian restaurant with nice choice of local food and wine. The waitress was very nice. I took a quenelle dish with a nice glass of Pinot Noir. To sum-up a wonderful place, with very tasty and fine cuisine.

If you are looking for Alsatian food (Tarte Flambee, cordon bleu... , this is a restaurant for you. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The dishes are not very light but are very tasty and well presented. The atmosphere is cheerful and cozy.

Very lovely lunch. Trout salad and snails were fantastic. Cracking outdoor, shaded eating area. Very definitely worth a visit.
