After a long day in Tangier, docked back in Tarifa tired and hungry. This little Italian cuisine gem gave us a boost of energy with it’s owner, Mateo, who is from Venice. The creations from his kitchen have been the best we have experienced this week in this area. Three of our choices included his daily creations, we started with muscles in a light and lively curry base, grilled seasonally vegetables and squid. With a hankering for pasta (the reason we came here) we savoured the flavours of more seafood. We hadn't looked for restaurants on TripAdvisor before we arrived in Tarifa and chose Acqua Alta by pure chance. We were so glad that we did. The food was exquisite and very reasonably priced. Superbly cooked seafood, both the prawns and tuna were delicious. Add to that the owner serving us personally, explaining the origin of the restaurant, how each dish was prepared and all about the wines he imports direct from Italy made for an extremely welcoming dining experience. Would highly recommend eating here!
Went there following trip advisor ranking Once again it worked perfectly well Did not look at the menu. Asked the chef to prepare lunch for 4. Limit €20 per head all was homemade. Big shrimps with guacamole, pasta with seafood, beef with homemade smashed potatoes and truffle oil.... drinks and expresso. €18 per head Look at what you get for that price in the places around and I m sure you will give that place a chance Very friendly staff too
Dropped in by chance. Radically better than a touristy place we ate in the day before (down the street in the plaza). A true master chef with global hotel experience is back in the kitchen (we met him)! The owner is Italian, and is running a wonderful operation. Outside seating is comfortable. A truly cosmopolitan spot that you will be glad to know. Good Italian wine too. My seven year old boy loved it too!

Delicious food. My husband had his best tuna ever. The chicken in soya served with mashed potato with truffle, was also really good. Make sure you have left some room for the chocolate waffle with ice cream. Its the best! And the service was really friendly and genuine.
