It 's become a tradition for us to stop off at the Adlerhütte for Kaffee und Kuchen during our hols in Kitz. I can highly recommend their Apfelstrudel, which is absolutely divine bursting full of juicy apples, topped with light as a feather filo pastry,...dusted with icing sugar and served with flavoursome local cream. I also had peppermint tea and was pleased that it was quality leaf Bio Tea . It came complete with a wedge of lemon and a small jar of local honey, which was a lovely touch. The Adlerhutte is situated close to the middle station of the Hornbahn. There are lovely views over Kitzbuhel and the Hahnenkamm from the terrace. The service was very friendly and quick. We tried 3 desserts apple strudel, strawberry cheesecake and strawberries with ice cream. All...were reasonable quality, but we have tasted better in other bergrestaurants.
we have used this restaurant at numerous locations and always enjoyed it. this year was not an exception. the lookout is beautiful and the staff is always friendly. this is a great place to stop and have a beer and meat plate or strudel after. an energetic walk. one must try for children and adults alike is the delicious strawberry milk.

we spent 45 minutes walking at 33 degrees heat and such a reward! very nice place with fantastic view, friendly service and yuuum food! I was not hungry, but my husband ordered the chicken soup and it smells like paradies, so I had to order. and then the strudel! there is also a cable car up there so they don't have to walk.
easier place to eat just a short walk from the cable car station on the way to alpenhausen. sitting out in summer is a pleasure with the quiet being only occasionally disturbed by a visit from the nearby goats. only disappointment was not a grostl on menu.! eating was excellent, but regardless of it.
Can recommend the goat cheese salad and the apfel strudel is spicy, juicy and filled with apples. The waiters spoke bad English but they tried and were helpfull. Note that they only take cash. We passed by after having taken the lift up to the...top and then walked down takes app 45 minutes
