I recently dined at this restaurant for the first time and ordered the Grande Special, which included a burrito, enchilada, hard-shell taco, chile relleno, rice, and refried pinto beans. All the items were filled with seasoned ground beef, except for the chalupa. The meal was served on two platters. The only issue I had with the food was that the ground beef filling was overly salty. The chile relleno I received was not fried or covered in egg batter as usual, but instead drenched in a cheese sauce, which I found to be fine. Some of the best queso I have ever had in the city!!!! Especially fond of the bar service by the knowledgeable Albert who was able to tourguide me to the carnitas for the brave! I was nervous due to the title but after I received this dish I was very pleased with the suggestion! I also appreciated their vast selection of culturally appropriate beers that were served promptly in a chilled glass. The atmosphere was warm and inviting even though the place was packed for what I assumed to be happy hour! My friends and I will be returning since we have been looking for a replacement for the subpar Mexican food this city has been offering.
This was my second time returning to this restaurant. Once again, the food was delicious!! The service was a bit slow, but understandable given the current circumstances. The food was so good that I didn't mind the wait. I want to be transparent and mention that I did not have any alcoholic drinks during this visit. I think I would have been less bothered by the wait if I had a margarita or two!!
This place rocks. I ordered a mezcal margarita. It was the end of the bottle. I got the worm. The food is awesome and I will always come here.
