We ordered the deep fried California roll, lobster tempura roll, tempura, and a large bottle of Asahi beer. The deep fried California roll was surprisingly delicious! In Japan, deep frying sushi is unheard of, but the crispy batter and moist rice complemented each other perfectly. It paired well with the beer. The tempura was also crispy, and I even enjoyed eating the shrimp tails. A generous pile of pickled ginger (gari) was served, which helped cleanse the palate.

Good food and staff. Everything about the food here and the staff was really nice. Our server was helpful and not overbearing with some charisma, and the food was as good as or better than pretty much any other sushi place we would go to. The location can feel more like... cheap glamour. It's a little raggedy outside, and while that's not their fault, it does paint some of the picture there. Parking can be tough depending on the hour and you may walk from over towards downtown Redwood City. It’s our first time to explore the Japanese food around this area and saw the review of this place. Have to say, the food and service impressed us. We arrived around 2 which there was almost no one during new year eve, and the staff is very warm to bring us water first without asking. The menu is all very tempting, and we decided to order 3 rolls and 2 appetizers. The fish is fresh and the rolls are flavorful! The restaurant is very clean and wide as well. Strong recommendation on this spot!
The staff here are cordial and attentive. And the portions are huge for how much we are used to paying in SF!! When we went only two tables were taken in the large space so it was quiet. What they lack in some food authenticity they make up for in a quiet and friendly atmosphere. Very family friendly especially for a Saturday lunch. We got a couple rolls, karaage and the sushi -sashimi combo... which I could not finish because the sashimi pieces were very big (forgot to take a pic).

Delicious chicken and shrimp hibachi. The rainbow roll was huge and fantastic! I had it all delivered by UberEats and delivery was fast! I'm in from out of town and want sure what to order, glad I chose Ahi Sushi... Prices were a little higher than expected, but the quality left me feeling like I wasn't cheated. Would definitely order again!
My son wanted to try something new for his birthday and not only have we found a new delicious treat, the staff was so sweet!I They brought ice cream, sang happy birthday, and even gave him a picture to remember the evening. They really care about their guests

Futomaki roll is a must. As a meat eater myself… that is my favorite roll. They do it so well!! Even tho it’s just veggies!!
