Al Porto Vecchio - Table reservation

19th May 22. My partner and I dined with my two teenage daughters for birthday dinner celebrations. I worked at this restaurant 20 years ago so it was nice to go back and check it out. We were met by the new owner of only 4 years, and it was nice to see they've kept a lot of the menu items the same. We were seated opposite an open fire in the front room. We started with a cheese and olive focaccia $10.50), some drinks for the girls and a bottle of Red Claw Pinot Noir $69). For mains we ordered the lamb ragu with tagliatelle $27), garlic cream prawns with rice and side salad $29), pesto genovese with tagliatelle $23) and a 250g eye fillet steak on the rarer side of med-rare with red wine jus,...

our meals were absolutely delicious, the portions were generous and extremely tasty. we ordered the salmon court and the Barramundi filling and shared because both looked yummy! we have asked ourselves to exchange a part of the meal for something else, and the staff was obliged and all served with a smile. in an icy cold night it was warm and welcoming and I recommend this restaurant. terrible! they look forward to returning.

Pizza was very good I like the dough. The shoestring chips though is a bit like the ones you get from Mecca’s.. Pasta isn’t the best but not bad. Service is excellent and atmosphere is also very good. Would still recommend people to go.

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing evening. the service was slow and forgotten. eating was very average and too expensive for its quality. the restaurant was freezing and had the radio rather than a game list.
