We stopped in here after a long drive through the bush with the kids. 4 adults, 5 kids.The staff was helpful and service was decent. Food arrived fairly quickly.Burgers were good, but almost (not quite) tough. Very meaty, and satisfying after a long day outdoors. Meal size was ample. Kids dishes as well were well sized.They have Donairs on the menu. I didn't order one, but do know the origin of the donair recipe used here, and I expect them to be fantastic. One of my kids ordered Fish & Chips and I tried it - quite good. A bit greasy like Fish & Chips should be, perfectly cooked fish inside and decent tartar sauce on the side.You won't leave hungry.
Went to the Alamo after reading the good reviews on here. I don't know why this place was getting such good reviews but the place is not worth 4 stars. The service was awful, took 5 minutes to get a menu. Table was dirty and asked for a cloth to clean it ourselves as server did not check. Also had to ask for water refills. Food was just as bad or worse with a freezer burnt burger and a donair that was no where close to the original Gerr's donair. It was not on pita bread but on a tortilla wrap, sauce was thin and the meat was thin and not fried properly. Not going back until I hear of improvements.
Often stop here on our way to Vancouver. This time we were disappointed that we had missed the breakfast menu. Last time the waitress had checked with the kitchen and they had been pleased to serve us from the breakfast selections. The food we did order was okay and obviously home made which is such a rarity in this fast food culture. We did find it hard to get coffee refills as the waitress kept disappearing. The restaurant is clean and friendly and obviously a place where the " locals" frequent. This gives a place an added charm.
The Alamo restaurant, just a few kilometers south of Quesnel in Kersley, has excellent food. All the breads and rolls are made in the house. Unbelievable Donairs, and soups all have tremendous flavours. The owner/sever is simply a delight. If you want really good food, at a very reasonable price, you must try the Alamo. Book a table now
We had a relaxing lunch of a schnitzel burger with a mushroom soup. The burger was very good and the soup was tasty but a little thin. The service was super and the decor with the many signs were entertaining. Maybe next time I'll have room for a dessert. They looked yummy :)
How can a cup of soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, plus a $13 Caesar Salad, a can of orange juice and an (as it turned out) disgustingly wet cinnamon bun cost $35????
Stopped in here for a late lunch. Service was fast and friendly. Food was delicious - sandwiches are made on homemade bread and they serve real brewed sweet ice tea.

Had a large ham cheese and mushroom omelette with white toast and hashbrowns. You should stop by and see the friendly ladies at the Alamo!
