I have to admit, after I placed my order, I was thinking about the negative review I would write on the $22 salad I was about to pay for. Which, by the way, cost less than the $20 lobster roll the hubby got for happy hour (but more on that later). To my surprise, the salad was so worth $22! It had to be one the BEST salads I've ever eaten. The salad was tossed with a delicious homemade dressing and they did NOT skimp on the toppings of gorgonzola, prosciutto, egg, avocado, chicken, cucumbers, etc. I would order this again in a heart beat, even at the $22 price point. Now, about the happy hour. You can read the details on their menu but we had $2 oysters (all types). And like I said, the hubb...

Immediately my friend and I were greeted and brought to an available table. The server was friendly and great at recommending one of the 50% bottles of wine. I then ordered the cheese plate and when it was delivered each cheese and jam was described with what it pairs well with. I felt as if we were at a wine tasting also trying cheese and fruit. We then ordered entrees which everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend and will continue dining here!

Quick trip into Albany, two nights. Went here both nights. Great service with different servers each evening. Oysters were fresh and the salads were amazing. Regretted not having the French dips and burgers seeing them served to the other tables but you can only eat so much. Do yourself a favor and visit. Oh, excellent cocktails and the beer selection is outstanding with rare regional drafts plus a bottle shop.

Was excited to try this spot so I came during happy hours between 3 and 5. I tried each of the oysters and then the lobster roll. Food tasted fine but I started feeling nauseous shortly and threw up after I came home. Will not come here again. Book a table now

To be fair it is called Albany ALE and Oyster, but the Rita was watery as was the martini. My husband did have a delicious Imperial Stout (11% abv! Beautiful to look at and yummy to taste. Food....meh. Fun to watch passerbys.

Absolutely the best burger I had in my lifetime (I'm old. It was a brisket burger that melted in your mouth!!. The pretzels were great along witht he shrimp cocktail. The Caesar salad with chicken was awesome.

Really cool place on albany. It is sometimes hard to find the right balance of upscale restaurant that is still cozy and enables you to feel relaxed.. Albany ale and oyster does exactly this.

Good Rueben, great salad. Dark inside, and somewhat devoid of charm. Food and service make up for this. Book a table now
