The pizzas that we ordered came to our table, eventually. We had to wait quite a while. Maybe they wanted us drunk before we ate. Who knows. But it was not all that busy. Most of the outer crust was awesome. That's where the good news ends. The further into the centre of the pizza you venture, the flatter, soggier and more aweful it gets. Far too much salt was used. Parts of the crust and base were rendered inedible by the excess ingredient. And if you're lucky you will only be missing half of your chosen toppings. Not good, just go to Villa Romana.
First time visit to the restaurant with interstate friends, the place was very busy and meals took awhile to come out. The gnocchi was amazing but was the size of an entree yet the other meals quite large. The garlic bread/pizza was not very garlicy and quite dry. The pizza was strange as the ingredients were not spread across the pizza evenly but in separate areas on the pizza. So all the meat was on a slice, all the artichoke on another slice, it was quite strange. It was a nice meal but I probably wouldn't go back.
As a local, considering current circumstances, I’m making special efforts to contribute to local businesses. So...I organised a large group of friends, made a booking and headed here recently....almost every aspect of this lunch was dismal from the moment we arrived. Service was poor, unprofessional unfriendly. Wait time for anything was ridiculously long (restaurant by no means full) Food was delicious although overpriced. Certainly won’t be heading back in a hurry for the risk of further disappointment.
A Wednesday night and only pizza available we are told . Only 2 staff chef and owner . In spite of booking had to wait 15 min for a table . Waited 30 minutes for the drinks to come …..despite the service lag times I must say it’s some of the best pizza we have had in a long time . We left having had a good time and very pleased with the meal . Friday sat sun I’m told have a full kitchen open with pasta and other alternatives available .

As a lover of wood-fired pizza, I must say that this was one of the best I have ever had. Despite the long wait, the delicious wood-fired pizza that arrived at our table was definitely worth it. Our server, a young woman, was attentive and friendly, always greeting us with a warm smile. Located just a five-minute walk away from the Lake Placid Rainforest Retreat in Cairns, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone staying in the area.
The pizzas here are the proper Italian kind My friends partner who is Italian travels here from the other side of Cairns regularly to eat at Alessandro’s. The setting is quiet and ambient right on Lake Placid near rainforest. They even hosted a techno dance party here one night which I went to with a friend. But it’s all about the Italian food at Alessandro’s after coming several times I highly recommend the pizzas here.
The pizza was absolutely fab! Despite being understaffed and potentially slightly longer wait times, the service was still gracious. Shani, the bartender, was absolutely fantastic we loved her! We had a great night and really recommend heading here for some proper classic Italian pizza.
Well yes, the negative feedback I understand but hey, when the pizzas are this good, it is a bit precious. The waitress was absolutely lovely but somewhat ineffectual. So what !! The setting is beautiful and the food I had was great !!

The service was excellent at this restaurant, and the location in the rainforest was beautiful. The pasta was cooked perfectly and delicious, and the chocolate tart for dessert was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this place.
This restaurant is amazing! It is in a tranquil setting with welcoming staff. The bruschetta and pizza are the best in town. You should definitely check it out.
