"This restaurant has a beautiful terrace on a hill alongside the wine hiking road. Under a tree with a view on the valley it is a vary enjoyable place to have lunch. Cuisine is brauhaus German, not refined but good quality. The environment makes it very worthwhile a detour."

I really wanted to visit this restaurant for the view and taste the local wines. I had a glass of Pinot Noir, or late Pinot Noir, as it is called in Germany. It was really easy and delicious! Lunch was nice: I can't remember what we ate, but it was perfect enough. The views of the hills and vineyards from the terrace were perfect on the sunny day we visited. I love it! A few downs landed a wasp in my glass of wine and the waitress offered to get it out for me, but not to offer a substitute glass of wine. I thought that was a shame when we spend enough money. I didn't want to drink my wine that was ruined by a wasp. Good customer service would have been to bring me a fresh glass of wine, and...

The winding narrow streets and hairpin turns are worth when you come here. I was told that many hikers visited this restaurant. We had 7 in our party and had a great table near the window. It was 6:30, so we still see the beautiful valley below. Our waitress was very friendly and patient, as she explains many of the entrees. I had the big salad (Salat Garnelenspies) and it was the most expensive item on our bill. All the others got sausages and potatoes. Someone has Coleslaw and it was excellent. Some ordered beer and some of us shared a bottle of Weinhaus Altenwegshof Edition Christoph, dry and it was fantastic. We all had a great meal, good wine and loved the waitress... perfect evening.

We went to this restaurant for lunch and a break from roaming the surrounding vineyards. It lies high on a hill above Dernau, has a beautiful shaded terrace overlooking the surrounding hills and vineyards. Includes local wines and beers and a varied but decisive German menu. Food was well prepared and delicious, and a bargain! We had Bradwurst, Flamkucken, Potato Salad, Sauerkraut and Sauerkraut between us three, stretched the meal to two hours to enjoy the view and the beautiful weather.

On a hot day there was nothing better to do than under the cool sheet that covers the terrace. With a view to the velvety wine terraces, we have comfortably lined our time with a coffee/tea cake. We were not rushed servers were very friendly. The local wine walks are nearby, so no need to worry about potential pounds that smell around the waist.
