Very nice small restaurant, very cosy and with very friendly staff. They didn’t have the menu in English and the waiter translated very patiently the dishes for me. I really appreciated the 2 little starters that they were offered by the house: the first some Italian freshly cut salame and a small raw fish dish. Both dishes to die for and both kindly offered by the house. I was recommended a lovely Austrian Merlot, that turned out to be very nice and fruity, great recommendation. I had a a schnitzel. It was beautiful, full of flavour and really a great experience. Overall a great place, lovely food and amazing staff: I would really recommend this restaurant.
We dined here 2 times and were not disappointed. The dining room is contemporary, light and cozy (not stuffy at all) in which we happily sat when it was raining. The courtyard had more of an Italian flair and you did not hear any noise from the street. The menu had choices from regional to Mediterranean and all the dishes were well presented, fresh and tasty. In addition, the staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient, making the entire experience even more pleasant. A great dining choice without snobbiness or lack of service, and delicious food without an enormous bill.
Altes Backhaus is located in a charming old house once a traditional bakery. The Chef, Mr. Gruber, is an absolute professional. Local, fresh and seasonal cuisine paired with great local wines. Service smiling, friendly and outgoing in summer some tables in a sunlit courtyard. My absolute favorite, from business lunches to taking our´t family and friends. Wiener Neustadt finally has an extraordinary place to go for lunch or dinner except Sundays and Mondays.
Extremely slow restaurant. Tried to start a birthday dinner, and within 2 hours only the soup came. The phone number of the restaurant has been deleted from my contacts : The soup was OK
