The atmosphere definitely gives off soul when you walk in. Neo soul and R&B on the speakers when you walk in. It was very clean in the eating area when you walked in, which is a huge plus. The cornbread was amazing, so soft and the butter complimented the taste.The fried shrimp had the perfect breading and the sauce to accompany it. The fried chicken was also cooked to perfection, and the Mac n cheese was delicious. The waffle had the right amount of softness and crunch, a really good eat.I also want to shout out the middle aged waitress. It was quite busy and she was handling the front of the house with ease. And she was really nice and hospitable. She was a rock star and deserves her props...
We made a stop here, and man this food was good. Got the fried chicken plate with candied yams and Mac and cheese. All excellent. Fried breading on the chicken was perfect, not too oily and great taste. Meat was tender. Sides were great, molasses based yams. Daughter got the shrimp and grits and was also excellent. Will be looking for excuses to come back. Wouldn’t hesitate to order catering from here either, as I saw people picking up trays when I arrived. Overall 5 stars
It wasnt your typical set up for a restaurant but the food was good. Especially the sweet potatoe pie was on point. It was very good as well as the fried chicken was nice and hot right off the stove. Definitely go and support. It's just hard to rate based on location. We pulled into the apartment complex and it felt like we were invading on community space. It's located right next to the leasing office. The burger and fries I had were good. If I lived in the complex I'd definitely walk over everyday and be a regular.
This was my first time visiting and I fell in love!!!! Seeing the beautiful staff, the music was on point, the food was delicious and the drinks were perfect!!!! We stopped in after a visit in the area and we were told to expect to wait forever for service. We didn't have to wait ever, but service is something that could use some work. The food was fantastic and our waitress was just the sweetest person. We are going to go back a second time real
Warm cornbread and comfort food. I had the Lemon Pepper Grilled Salmon and my wife the Bang Bang Salmon. Collard greens, yams, and roasted vegetables. She had the winter in Mexico and I the Ole'Soul.
