Lovely little pub nestled in a quiet backwater of Compstall village. We went primarily because of the secluded beer garden located at the back of the pub and weren’t disappointed. Great beer, some good background music and a lovely host. We didn’t intend having hot food so decided instead to have sandwiches with side salad and chunky chips, all of which were delicious. All in all we had a tremendous few hours at this amazing little pub.
The staff at this restaurant are very friendly. My girlfriend and I came here for Sunday lunch after a walk around the lake. I ordered the turkey roast and it was delicious. I decided to pay a little extra for some cauliflower cheese and it was definitely worth it. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again. Sorry for the lack of photos, I only had one of an empty plate.
Just been for Sunday lunch with my son and as always the food was beautiful. We both had roast beef with all the trimmings I had the patè to start my son had the prawn cocktail, all the food was presented beautifully. Thankyou again to Hayley and your team for such a warm friendly environment to relax and enjoy a fb lunch
Every time I visit, I have a great time at this restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful and the owner is fantastic! She is the best hostess! You feel very welcomed indeed. The food is also delicious and the events she organizes for the pub are fantastic both during the day and at night. Book a table now
The staff were welcoming and the menu wasn't over complicated with fancy meals. The food and meals are home made. All meals came out hot and had the best fish and chips in 58 years... one word.... wow and would definitely eat here again.....
We had a delightful Sunday lunch with all the extras, the cheesecake was absolutely delicious. Mark is an amazing chef and we will definitely return.

"Food and drink options are great! Such a clean breakfast. I opted for the vegetarian breakfast. Service was 5 star, very friendly staff. Plenty of space inside with a seating area outside. Highly recommend visiting!!"
