I've never written a review before, but as a pregnant woman on a mission to find the crispiest, juiciest, and spiciest chicken sandwich in town, I felt compelled to share my experience. I've tried seven other places in the Sacramento area, and let me tell you, Angry Chick's is the best. The chicken is always crispy and perfectly spiced (I go for the medium spice), and it hits the spot every single time. The chicken is consistently juicy, and I've never had a bad experience. I order from them twice a week, and they have made me a loyal customer for life. They really go above and beyond; today, I asked for one sauce, and they gave me four! I love spicy food, and I often struggle to find dishes that are spicy enough for my taste. But look no further! I ordered the Hot and Extra Hot tenders, and let me tell you, my lips, throat, and stomach are absolutely on fire! In the best possible way, of course. I can’t get enough of them! Just be sure to have some cooling options handy, like ranch, sour cream, or milk, to help soothe the heat. They are so delicious—I will definitely be ordering again!
The Hot Combo #1 with mac and cheese instead of fries has become one of my favorite comfort foods. The Country heat is still incredibly tasty, providing a good level of spice, while the Hot heat strikes a perfect balance between the two. The special sauce makes for an excellent side dip, and I usually mix any leftovers into my mac and cheese. This is definitely my top choice for chicken sandwiches!
This is the spiciest chicken sandwich I've ever had—not for the faint of heart! I have a second one sitting in the fridge. My friend ordered the one level down, called "Call 911," and that’s also resting in the fridge. I’d give it a solid 10/10, but next time, I might opt for something two levels below the spiciness. This is my favorite restaurant and my go-to spot! I love the chicken, the spicy flavors, and the staff is incredibly relaxed and friendly. The food is consistently fresh, hot, and delicious. If you’re not a fan of spicy food, they offer milder options as well. I always add an extra tender to my angry mac!
The food is as delicious as always, but it seems the size of the chicken has decreased since my last visit. Usually, the bun is perfectly matched to the chicken, but this time, the chicken was quite thin, leaving an excess of bun on either side. I hope this isn’t a sign of a new trend at Angry Chickz.
The staff here is very friendly and attentive, and I have no complaints about the customer service. However, the food combination wasn’t quite to my taste. I can see that many others would enjoy it, but for me, it felt a bit excessive—more reminiscent of flavors I preferred long ago.
