The service, however, was commendable with a solid 4, making the overall dining experience enjoyable. The atmosphere of the restaurant also stood out, receiving a rating of 4, providing a pleasant setting for our meal. I would particularly recommend trying the 2 Rolls, as they were the highlight of the evening.
The dining area was cozy, with a long wall couch paired with matching tables and chairs, all arranged to face the bench. On the opposite wall, there were elegantly matched tables for two. The tranquil, understated atmosphere made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. I appreciated the Asian art pieces that adorned the walls, adding to the artistic and sophisticated ambiance. Aoyu Sushi has a relaxed atmosphere while still offering a taste of city elegance. During dinner service, you are welcomed with a warm towel for your hands, and their house tea is both delicious and soothing. The sushi is always fresh, and they have great deals on wine bottles. I often choose between dining in at the restaurant or ordering for pickup, and the quality of the food is consistently excellent. They offer a fantastic omakase, and the staff is attentive without rushing you, which I really appreciate.
My recent dining experience at Aoyu Sushi was excellent. My companion and I shared the Chef's Super Omakase, a sashimi and sushi combo for two, which was definitely worth the price. The fish quality surpassed my previous visits to the restaurant. While our fellow diners enjoyed their cooked dishes, they agreed that our sushi and sashimi stole the show. The sushi at this restaurant is quite good, and the omakase offers decent value for the price. However, I wouldn't recommend the duck dish—it's not worth the $20. I was expecting something exceptional, but it turned out to be just a pricier version of duck egg soup that I could find in NYC's Chinatown for around $10. The flavors were about 90% similar, including the broth and texture. I'm also hesitant about trying the tonkatsu dish.
This restaurant offers the most friendly service I've experienced in the area. We ordered the Sashimi Supreme for two, which was not only beautiful but also delicious.
