Service was extremely friendly. Restaurant layout was that of a traditional and slightly upscale brasserie. Food quality is the only reason of the low review. We ordered the most sad and pathetic cheese board for $22. Image below. No meat, no olives. Slimy cheese, rotten grapes, and sriacha sauce on a cheese board? Like what? Anyway, ordered the poivre which was absolutely delicious, but was listed as $MP. It was $56 for a hamburger, the price should have been listed considering the only other expensive entree was around $36. I should have confirmed, but sneaky on their end nonetheless. The green onions were undercooked and I Al’s it choked multiple times. Dad ordered Lapin, a few bites, ext...

While the quality of the food and the ambiance were pleasing, the unprofessional behavior of the staff overshadowed the experience. The host was casually dressed in a brown hoodie and was more focused on his phone than greeting guests. Although our waitress was very friendly, she completely forgot about our meal, leaving us to wait nearly 1.5 hours for our food, which arrived cold. Throughout our wait, the staff inadvertently approached us with dishes meant for other tables and inquired about food we hadn’t ordered. This lack of professionalism detracted from both the dining experience and the atmosphere. My husband referred to it as “controlled chaos,” but I think “chaos” is more fitting. I...

My only concern—though it may be considered controversial—is the unexpected 3% Kitchen Appreciation charge. I only noticed this after I received my credit card statement since I didn’t see a detailed receipt beforehand. Having worked in the industry to support myself through college, I understand and appreciate the importance of tipping; however, I believe this practice should come to an end. What's next—management appreciation fees or ambiance appreciation charges? I long for the days when waitstaff would tip out busboys and kitchen staff directly. Unfortunately, this policy will deter me from returning, as it’s not a trend I want to support. I’m sorry if my $125 tip isn’t enough to cover y...

Extrelemy disappointed in Aquitaine in the Chestnut Hill location.First, the service was extremely slow and the restaurant was not even that busy.Second, the quantities were ridiculously small for some overpriced dishes (at least for the special of the night and the salmon).Third, dishes are definitely lacking refinement and elegance, the duck and steak were way undercooked and basically raw. Not acceptable after waiting a hour.Overall, the atmosphere is nice and the parking situation is great but the food is not unfortunately (at least for that night) not worth it. Book a table now

I visited the restaurant today at noon to scout it out for a possible Mother’s Day brunch in May. The host took my reservation, and I opted to sit at the bar to peruse the menu. I ordered a lavender French 75 cocktail made with gin, lemon, Prosecco, and lavender simple syrup. It was the perfect mix of sweet and tart, and expertly prepared. The bartender, who was incredibly friendly, served me promptly despite me being a woman over 60. To eat, I got the lemon blueberry crepes topped with honey and sea salt almond brittle. Oh my goodness!

I've visited this location of Aquitaine several times before and have always enjoyed the steak frites. However, this time I decided to try the coq au vin while others at my table had the same or the sole meunière. Unfortunately, the coq au vin was completely flavorless—I've had hospital food that tasted better. Additionally, the sole was undercooked. I suggest they reevaluate the chef.

I'm sure this restaurant has many positive reviews for its delicious food and lovely ambiance, but I didn't find the price justified the portion size. The food was decent but nothing extraordinary, and paying $30 for a portion that felt like a small appetizer isn't a great deal to me. You can find excellent quality food in Boston at a lower price and leave feeling satisfied.

This is a delightful spot for a late lunch. I've dined here for dinner as well. They offer a wonderful selection of dishes that remind me of what was once referred to as 'Continental Cuisine.' The service is both efficient and friendly, managing to strike the perfect balance without being too familiar. Book a table now

We enjoyed our meal in a beautiful garden area at the back of the restaurant. I ordered the duck, and my sister chose a steak dish. I can’t remember what the others in our group had, but everyone commented that their meals were delicious. The service was excellent.
